2024 CPS Summer Leadership Institute (SLI)

Peer Conference is a student-led process where a small group of trained students contribute to the school-wide culture shift by leading preventive and responsive restorative practices.The Peer Conference program has two phases. Phase One focuses on developing the students’ community-building and Circle facilitation skills. In Phase Two, students are trained in conflict resolution and work directly with referred students (students who have violated a school rule or are in conflict) to understand the impact of their actions and find ways to repair the harm they have caused. This session will explore how students can be leaders of restorative practices work within the school and how administrators can bring Peer Conference to their school.
